Description

Tex is a 2017 buttermilk buckskin Quarter Horse gelding standing at 15.2 hands—you have to come meet my boy, Tex. I absolutely love this gelding. You will immediately be taken with his big, soft, kind eye and stunning buttermilk buckskin coat with his long flowing mane and tail. Standing 15.2 hands, this is one handsome guy that moves so graceful. Hard to find a horse with this size and bone structure with a modern day, top performance, black-type pedigree. Tex is so low key, receptive, and easy-going towards anything you throw his way—one of the most gentle, kind, and trustworthy horses we have had the opportunity to have in our program. Tex physically isn't a superstar athlete like Michael Jordan, and he can't run like Secretariat, but if you want a horse that you can throw any member of the family on or the CEO of your company and have an amazing insurance policy, he is your guy. Tex does all the fun stuff too—pretty spins, automatic lead changes, and a nice sliding stop. He is naturally cowy and strong enough to hold anything you are cowboy enough to rope. He definitely has more whoa than go, but is very trained and easily takes his correct leads with just a smooch, and the minute you say "whoa," he stands like a wooden Indian. Tex easily guides and has a lot of direction one-handed. He would make a fun horse to show in ranch riding or ranch trail events. His demanding presence will definitely get you noticed in the show pen. A superstar over all trail obstacles, drags, bridges, and willingly side passes to open gates and over logs. Tex is soft in his face and good in his rib cage—I do believe he would also be amazing in Western dressage. He loves long relaxing trail rides and is bombproof outside. Nothing fazes him—a great confidence builder that is safe for any level of rider. Fun on the ranch and handy enough to do a day's work, he enjoys riding out in big pastures to check fence and cattle. Tex lays down on command with trust and confidence around tarps, dogs, and gunfire. He will boldly cruise down busy highways with traffic and bicycles, good around machinery, pigs, buffalo, and even a camel. Tex has a fabulous disposition and is always a gentleman around the barn and on his back. He will meet you in the pasture and truly enjoys any attention.
