Vandam is a 2016 black tobiano Paint Horse gelding standing at 14.2 hands—a SUPER stocky built gelding, beautiful black/white Paint. Registered APHA with a pedigree that has some of the best you will find. He is bred to do anything that involves a cow. Vandam has a lot of experience and has been ridden lots of miles. He has been owned and ridden by a good friend of ours who is a natural horsemanship trainer. Vandam will lay down and sit on his rump. He also rides bridleless—you MUST SEE his video. He is a super sweet horse and loves attention. A horse that the whole family can ride and love regardless of what age they are, he is stout enough to carry a big ol' daddy yet gentle enough to carry his baby girl. I have hauled him to team sorting events and won money on him; he has been started on both ends of the roping dummy and has huge potential. He has been trail ridden in several states, crosses creeks, ditches, logs, and navigates rough rocky areas. Safe riding in traffic, he has a smooth jog, a nice lope, slide stops, turns a circle both ways, side passes, and backs with ease. A confident horse on the trails, he will lead the crew, head out alone, or follow behind with no issues. Exposed to all kinds of wildlife, he goes anywhere asked. With many miles in the mountains, he has encountered every obstacle possible on the trail—going up or down steep slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and all types of rough terrain while staying sure-footed. Vandam is not cinchy, cold-backed, does not crib or weave. If you're looking for a family horse, ranch horse, rope horse, team sorter—Vandam is one horse that can do all those jobs.
