Description

Torch is a 2015 palomino Quarter Horse gelding standing at 15 hands—handsome, charming, and 100% a gentleman in every way. You will fall head over heels in love with our sweet boy, Torch. He's a people pleaser for sure—you ask, he will do it. This gelding is so sincere and kind. He will follow you around like a big puppy dog around the barn and run to the pasture gate when he sees his person. Torch is trained in reining and performs all maneuvers easily and consistently. He is a very elegant mover with the smoothest, most comfortable gaits and transitions. Torch has a huge stop, a lot of turn around, automatic lead change, and great speed control. He has great direction with a solid neck rein—just point and he will go right where you send him. Torch loves trail riding and being outside. Very sure-footed, he handles himself well on rocky and rough terrain, willingly going through running water, deep mud, thick brush, and heavily wooded areas. Confident alone, but good with a group of horses on the trails. He ground ties where you drop a rein and will side pass to open all the gates. Torch can go long periods without riding and stays gentle—always honest to saddle up and go. He stays trained and knows his job, safe and sane for any level of rider. We have steer-stopped out of the head box and roped the sled on Torch. He tracks right in behind a steer and rates one great. We have used him to sort and doctor cow/calf pairs and used him out in big country to catch wild cows. He's happy to do any job you throw at him with ears forward and a great attitude. He will go all day long and has no quit in him. Torch deserves the best home. His willingness to ride for anyone that climbs on his back and his big personality unquestionably make him a barn favorite.
