Darrion is a 2016 grulla mustang gelding standing at 15 hands—"The Wonder Horse" who will make you wonder if he is even a horse. He's closer to a human than any horse we have ever met. Darrion is well built with dark defined grulla markings, including pencil-thin zebra stripes on his face. He is trained to lay down for mounting from the ground or dismount from the saddle—a great tool for anyone with knee or hip issues or if you are handicapped. If laying down isn't easiest, he will also side pass over to a trailer fender, truck bed, gate, or tree stump. He has been taught all about leg pressure and will ride without a bridle, using a rein around his neck or just your feet to back, spin, turn, side pass both ways, lope, and slide stop. Darrion has one of the easiest and softest lopes you'll ever sit on. Other tricks include playing kickball, counting with both feet, rearing up on command, walking down a 12' cross-tie, hopping up on a pedestal or truck bed, sitting on his rump, and bowing down. We have thrown everything at him trying to scare him, and I believe he is as close to bombproof as any horse can be. We have had him camping, used him around cows including roping some calves off him, trail ridden him hundreds of miles including a lot of miles ridden by a 9-year-old. We have ridden through town, right down Main Street, across railroad tracks, through the car wash, used the car vacuum on him, rode him down the sidewalks of town, down steps, up ramps, through Hardees drive-through, inside Bishop's Tire Center, and through the bank to make a deposit. We have ponied other horses off him and used him to break colts to lead—he will drag anything you ask. He has been ridden around farm equipment, ATVs, over large noisy tarps, and with guns shot off his back. No matter where he goes or what he does, Darrion is not spooky acting. Exposed to all kinds of wildlife, he goes anywhere asked. He goes up or down steep slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and all types of rough terrain while staying sure-footed. He has been ridden in traffic and is very traffic safe around cars, semis, log trucks, and dump trucks. He is one of the friendliest horses you'll find—he will follow you around and even go for a jog with you. He has a great attitude about whatever he is asked to do. Someone is about to hit the lottery with Darrion—he is 1 in a million.
